Black areas are fully hidden,\n    white areas are fully visible, and gray areas partially dim the projection.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <h2>Getting Started<\/h2>\n  <ol>\n    <li>Open StageMask. A new untitled mask document appears automatically.<\/li>\n    <li>Set <strong>Stage Size<\/strong> to match your projection output.<\/li>\n    <li>Choose <strong>Mask<\/strong>, <strong>Dim<\/strong>, or <strong>Reveal<\/strong>.<\/li>\n    <li>Paint directly on the canvas.<\/li>\n    <li>Optional: add a <strong>Vignette<\/strong> for smooth edge falloff.<\/li>\n    <li>Save the editable <code>.mask<\/code> file, or export a grayscale PNG for projection software.<\/li>\n  <\/ol>\n\n  <h2>Tools<\/h2>\n  <ul>\n    <li><strong>Mask:<\/strong> Paints black to fully hide projected content.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Dim:<\/strong> Paints gray to partially reduce brightness. Use the Dim slider to set the level.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Reveal:<\/strong> Paints white to restore visibility.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Soft Brush:<\/strong> Feathers brush edges for smoother transitions.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Grid:<\/strong> Shows or hides the alignment grid.<\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n\n  <h2>Stage Size<\/h2>\n  <p>\n    Set width and height to match the pixel resolution of your projector, media server, or output display.\n    Use the preset buttons for common sizes such as HD, WUXGA, UHD, and 2xHD. On macOS, choose a connected\n    display and click <strong>Use Display Size<\/strong> to match it automatically.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <h2>Base Level<\/h2>\n  <p>\n    Base sets the starting brightness before any strokes are painted:\n    <strong>Visible<\/strong> starts white, <strong>50%<\/strong> starts gray, and <strong>Masked<\/strong> starts black.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <h2>Vignette<\/h2>\n  <p>\n    Use <strong>Add Vignette<\/strong> to apply a smooth darkening effect from the center toward the edges of the mask.\n    This is useful for softening projection edges, reducing spill, or blending into scenic borders.\n  <\/p>\n  <ul>\n    <li><strong>Strength:<\/strong> Higher values make the edges darker.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Feather:<\/strong> Higher values make the fade wider and more gradual.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Edit Vignette:<\/strong> Reopen the vignette controls and adjust the effect.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Remove Vignette:<\/strong> Deletes the vignette without removing painted strokes.<\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n\n  <h2>Reference Images<\/h2>\n  <p>\n    Use <strong>Import Reference Image<\/strong> or drag an image onto the canvas to show a semi-transparent overlay.\n    Reference images help with alignment but are not included in exported PNG masks.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <h2>Saving and Exporting<\/h2>\n  <ul>\n    <li><strong>Save:<\/strong> Saves an editable <code>.mask<\/code> project file.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Open:<\/strong> Opens a saved <code>.mask<\/code> file.<\/li>\n    <li><strong>Export PNG:<\/strong> Exports the final grayscale mask, including strokes, base level, and vignette.<\/li>\n  <\/ul>\n\n  <h2>Full Screen Editor<\/h2>\n  <p>\n    The <strong>Full Screen Editor<\/strong> opens the mask editor on the selected display so you can paint directly over\n    the projection output.
